To design a fashion show catwalk the ideas must reflect the vision of the designers so that the theme of the show blends into one perfect whole. There are plenty of ways in which the designer can combine different elements to create an ideal fashion show setup.

Use lighting
Lighting in a fashion show can make or break the game. First and foremost, the lighting should not alter the colors of the garments the models are wearing, whether they are live or on video. Doing that defeats the purpose of the designers’ creations, and can compromise the whole show. Neutral lights that brighten the arena but do not reflect off of the clothes are the best option.
Stage layout
The traditional runway design is made with a purpose. The long runway with tiered seats on either side provides the best possible visibility in the arena.
Backdrops
The purpose of a backdrop in a fashion show is not to create a distraction, it is to prevent audiences from getting distracted from the proceedings of the show. The backdrop is meant to cover the backstage entirely and keep it away from the eyes of the audience members. Traditionally speaking, drapes and flat panels are used to create the backdrop, but this can be alternated to make something that relates to the theme of the show.
Music
The music that the models walk to on the runway is as essential as any other element.

Welcome! I’m Masha, a passionate advocate for the intersection of mental wellness and design. With a background in criminal justice and criminology, I’ve always been fascinated by the ways our environments shape our thoughts, behaviors, and overall well-being. This curiosity led me to explore how psychological principles can be seamlessly integrated into home design to create spaces that not only look beautiful but also foster mental health and relaxation.
In addition to my studies, I run a small business called OCD (Organize Create Design), where I focus on designing spaces that promote mental awareness and well-being. I believe that our surroundings have a profound impact on our mental state, and through my work, I aim to help others create homes that truly support their emotional and psychological needs.
This blog is a space where I share insights, tips, and research on how to apply psychological theories to home design. Whether you’re looking to create a stress-free environment, enhance your productivity, or simply make your home a sanctuary, you’ll find practical advice and inspiration here.
When I’m not writing or working on design projects, I’m pursuing my master’s degree in criminal justice and criminology at UMKC. My goal is to contribute to policymaking that positively impacts international adoptees and families, drawing from both my personal experiences and academic knowledge.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope you find the content here helpful and inspiring as you work to create a home that nurtures your well-being.
