Breakfast Nook Ideas

A breakfast nook is the perfect spot to add character to your kitchen, incorporate more seating, and make it a hang out spot. We rounded up our favorite breakfast nook ideas to share with you!

Light and Bright

We love how this nook is right off the kitchen and uses the space right under the window. Adding a fun chandelier, rug, and circle table complete the look. Incorporating a breakfast nook by a window is a great spot because of the natural light that floods the space and keeps it open and bright.

Cozy Elegance

This nook is built in to an existing space and utilizes the three sides for seating. Wood ceiling detail and a gold and white light make it complete. If you’re looking for more of a “built-in” look, consider building your breakfast nook into a framed out space or consider building it out during a remodel or new build to have that more custom feel.

Eclectic Vintage Modern

This look is one of our faves. From the shelving in the corners and above, to the cozy pillows, it looks like the perfect spot to curl up and read a book. We love the corner shelving, which provides a spot for plants and other decor to bring in personality and natural elements. The black sputnik light adds contrast to the white walls and rattan chairs.

Scandinavian

For a more simple nook, floating bench seating creates a modern and clean look. Paired with black chairs, sconces, and artwork, this nook has the perfect vibe. While a built-in bench in a cabinet-like style may provide storage, this floating bench is a clean and modern look. If you wanted to add storage, you could add baskets under the bench for items you’d prefer hidden away, but easily accessed.

Black and White

Bay windows are a great place for a breakfast nook since they provide lots of natural lighting and ample seating. We love the mix of modern, clean lines with lots of texture with the pillows, which makes this spot curated and cozy. This is a great example of a more custom look since it’s built into the space.
